This Dual Manufacturing ASTM test sieve provides a nominal #270 (0.053 mm) opening in an 8 in diameter, 1 in deep frame. The sieve uses stainless steel mesh with a brass frame for laboratory particle-size analysis and standardized sieving procedures.

Typical applications and selection: The 0.053 mm opening is well suited to very fine particle classification, including fine mineral powders, pigments, cementitious fines and other laboratory powders when the test method specifies this cut size. The stainless-steel mesh provides a corrosion-resistant screening surface, while the brass frame is a practical choice for routine dry laboratory sieving. The 1-inch depth is useful when stack height is limited, when many sieve sizes are used in one test, or when the available sample volume is relatively small. The final sieve designation and opening should always follow the applicable test method or product specification.

Dual Manufacturing USA Standard sieves are produced as ASTM E11 compliant sieves. Each sieve has an individualized etched serial number and is supplied with a manufacturer certificate. Inspection certification is available as an option, and recertification services are also available for used sieves.
