This Dual Manufacturing ASTM test sieve provides a nominal #170 (0.090 mm) opening in an 8 in diameter, 1 in deep frame. The sieve uses brass mesh with a brass frame for laboratory particle-size analysis and standardized sieving procedures.

Typical applications and selection: The 0.090 mm opening is well suited to fine-powder classification and control of fine particulate fractions in mineral, chemical, food and other laboratory samples when the method specifies this cut size. The brass frame and brass mesh are a practical choice for routine dry sieving of non-corrosive samples in general laboratory work. The 1-inch depth is useful when stack height is limited, when many sieve sizes are used in one test, or when the available sample volume is relatively small. The final sieve designation and opening should always follow the applicable test method or product specification.

Dual Manufacturing USA Standard sieves are produced as ASTM E11 compliant sieves. Each sieve has an individualized etched serial number and is supplied with a manufacturer certificate. Inspection certification is available as an option, and recertification services are also available for used sieves.
